Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MemoPal ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MemoPal is an AI companion platform that lets you create personalised AI friends with persistent memory, habit tracking, journaling, and proactive messaging capabilities. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with free and paid tiers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MemoPal. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
  • Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, or misleading content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
  • Use automated tools to scrape, mine, or extract data from the Service

6. AI-Generated Content

MemoPal uses large language models to generate responses. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. The Service does not provide professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic). You acknowledge that AI companions are not substitutes for human relationships or professional services.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time through the customer portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create (messages, notes, journal entries, trackers). We do not use your personal content to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by MemoPal. AI-generated content (bot responses, summaries, suggestions) is provided to you under a non-exclusive, personal-use licence.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. MemoPal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
